What We Do

The African and Caribbean Heritage Food Network advances food sovereignty in practice — through convening, policy engagement, research, education, and community-rooted action.

Our Approach

Building sovereignty through practice, memory, and structural change.

Instead of framing our approach as separate tabs, these pillars read as one connected sequence: people first, culture held in view, and systems challenged where they block food sovereignty.

Pillar One

Community-Led

True change happens when the community holds the reins. We centre the voices, wisdom, and leadership of African and Caribbean peoples in designing solutions for food insecurity.

Pillar Two

Culturally Rooted

We ground our work in heritage, lived experience, and intergenerational knowledge systems that have sustained communities for centuries.

Pillar Three

Systems-Focused

We engage policy, research, and institutions to create structural change that dismantles the barriers to food sovereignty for our communities.

What We Deliver in Practice

—How We Help Founders Win

The African and Caribbean Heritage Food Network operates at the intersection of heritage, ecology, and food justice. Our work is grounded in community needs while influencing global discourse.
